Joseph Hertel

After graduation from SMPC, taught and coached at Bishop Miege High School in the Kansas City area for 5 years --- in 1985 moved to Hays, Kansas, and took a teaching/coaching job at Thomas More Prep, the only Catholic high school in the western half of the state --- spent 33 years there — retired in 2018. Recently moved to Jacksonville, Alabama to be closer to grandbabies—just living the retirement dream—hunting, fishing, golfing, grandkids, and occasionally a top shelf cigar and some quality single-malt Scotch.

My SMPC memories include tons of stories about football, basketball, baseball, Roncalli Hall, the "Armor Room," the cafeteria, Sister Mel Eesa, Coach Diskin, "Duffy's," and more Coach "Moe" stories than you can count -- "Once a Cavalier, always a Cavalier"!
