Comments:

I graduated from Fort Hays Kansas State University in Hays, KS in 1960, and had taught 2 years in my home town, taking over for the nuns that were removed from our little parish. . Two wonderful years and a great way to begin a teaching career. Jack was in the Navy and we were married between the 2 years of teaching in Loretto. Went to San Diego,CA in July, 1960 after I received my degree. Kelly was born in Sept. Jack served his tour in the navy and we went back to Denver and Jack worked for Martin Marrietta. I taught. That started our moves and his career in the aerospace industry. With a break to finish his degree at KSU in Manhattan. I taught in St. Marys, KS and was the bread-winner. Then on to Wichita with Boeing; on to Huntsville, Alabama; Little Rock, AR; again Wichita, KS; Tucson, AZ; Denver, CO; Greensboro, NC/ at this time Jack and I both earned our Masters Degrees; New Port News, VA; Hampton, VA and finally our last home here in Richmond/North Chesterfield, VA. We have been here since 1982, so we consider ourselves Native Virginians. Ha.( Still a Kansas farmgirl at heart!) We did move into this empty-nester type home 6 months before my Jack died. I thank God everyday for that move. I love it here. My house, neighbors, and the location which is near my church. I retired after 34 years as teacher/counselor and have been retired since 2000. I love company so ya all come!! The welcome mat is out!

School Story:

Wonderful years as a boarder at St. Mary of the Plains with St. Mel Eesa as our dorm mother. And we (the boarders) loved befriending the day students. My cousin Carol lived in town. Got to go for the week-ends and had great times. Meeting up with my room-mates at the theater and went to Klein's Dairy Bar piling in Carol's car. She'd drop us off several blacks from the academy and we would walk the remainder of the way. (Not supposed to accept rides.HA!)To this day I still feel that my roommates and almost roommates next door were and still are my sisters: Pat, Marlene, Emma, Carolyn, Maryanne, Rosemary, CeCe,Jean and Carolyn L. Hope I didn't leave anyone out, sorry if I did. Love you guys! Used the word guys back thennnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!
